Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) Mobile Launcher System (MLS)

The Mobile Launcher System (MLS) for MRSAM Weapon System is a vehicle mounted platform for Launching MRSAM missiles, housing the Launch Control System (LCS), up to eight (8) Canisterised Missiles (CMs), Intra Fire Unit communication system for communication with the Combat Management System (CMS), and other necessary equipment. A single Trailer carries the entire Launch system including its power generation system.

The MLS is placed into and out of action by a Crew / Operator team preparing it for operations including Missile Launch. Launching is done only by the CMS, which communicates with the MLS either by cable or by wireless communication. The MLS system is composed of two main sub-systems, namely Towing Vehicle (MLS Vehicle) and a Trailer Platform. The Towing Vehicle / Prime Mover tows the semitrailer which carries all MLS operative units as well as some support equipment.
